Hello everyone at B.M.P. m.c. and congratulations on your 50 years...It feels good to be around from the 70"s and feeling like, 50 years later, everything is all right. I was 17, in 1970 living in LA, eyes wide open, first time I saw an ocean. I remember, like it was yesterday, seeing the beautiful Harley's, with the long extended front forks and the tall handlebars. What a beautiful sight, the bikes triped out and the men and their women, who were just laid back, their colors flying free. Maybe some of you were there to. Lots of Peace and Love to all of you.. This is also a shout out to my brother, Bill and my "sister" Rochelle, I found the site brother...:):) Happy 14th wedding anniversary :):) Lots of Love...Sis

This is kind of a long shot, but I'm hoping some of the Minneapolis BPM members might be able to help me. I'm working on a book about the Lyn-Lake neighborhood's history, and came across a great 1984 article about a group of BPM members visiting Jan Secord's home (it involved a dramatic description of them rounding up a group of rock-throwing kids at the grain elevators and handing them off to the police) I'm hoping to find some people who would be willing to talk to me about memories of Lyn-Lake from the past from anytime in the past 50 years. We're also looking for photos of people, places, events, and anything and everything else related to the neighborhoods around Lyndale and Lake. cedar@lyn-lake.com. Thanks!

In 1982, a then member of the BPM's named Tommy Christiansom passed away. We grew up together in Hopkins. In 1975, I conversed with him at the 908 Bar in Hopkins. He told me that he had just received his colors. To this day, I remain devastated by his death. He was a nice, mellow guy. In school, he excelled academically. In the club, however, he simulated foolhardiness. At the time of his death, his brother was a professor at the University of Iowa. What would the club think of raising some money and creating a scholarship in honor of our beloved friend Tommy?

I had sent a message earlier today for Bruce Kantor's son. I was hoping you could share it with him only. If you want to share with everyone, it's okay as these are good stories. I made a mistake in my last email, it wasn't an Indian they were riding, it was a Harley FLH. Should've known better. I talked with my mom and it is Bruce Kantor on the film not his brother as he didn't ride. She told me a story of how the BPMs saved our butt. There might be someone there that remembers this. My mom, uncle Tuscon, sister and I were in a pink Cadillac riding down Hwy 65; this was in the mid-60's. A woman pulled out from a liquor store and we broadsided her going about 75. The back of the car was full of bread and that's what cushioned me. People were coming from all over trying to pull us out of the car, but the BPMs surrounded us and wouldn't let anybody at us. My sister was hurt pretty bad. My mom said that Bruce was there. He was good friends with my mom (Pat), my dad (Punky) and my uncle Tuscon. I Hope you can share this with Bruce's son. My mom has a bunch of stories about his dad because they were all friends as kids - 16/17 yrs old on up. Thank you. Vicki

Vicki said:   March 23, 2010 6:34 am PST
I have an 8mm film of some of the men who started the BPMs. The film is from the late 50's and in color. I'm not sure which Kantor is in the film Bruce or I think it was Bobby. I know one of them died young. My mom, who was married to Punky (my dad is gone), knew both Kantor's. My grandpa did the filming as they were getting ready to take off & took off. They're on Indians - really nice bikes. I told my dad they looked like Marlon Brando (in that movie), he said 'no honey, Marlon Brando looks like us.' Maybe Bruce would like to see the film. It's short, but fun to watch. I won't part with it but would make a copy.

Big Bob's funeral information. When: Saturday, January 9, 2010 Where: Jubilee Worship Center, 3125 CR 74, St. Cloud Time: Visitation starts at 10 AM, the service will be at 12 noon, with lunch being served afterwards at Bubbas in Sauk Rapids Graveside services will be held in August in conjunction with the Mpls Memorial Run at the Pierce Family Cemetery in Anoka County. Directions to the church: From Division and 33rd Ave - go south on 33rd ave, (this will turn into W Germain street and then it becomes CR 74), for approximately 2 - 2.5 miles. The church is on your right. There are 2 churches on this stretch of road. The correct church doesn't really look like a church but has a "bubble" for a roof. And I believe there is a sign outside close to the road. If you need further information you can get my phone number from Tommy in Little Falls or Little John from Foley. I know he would have preferred being on his bike, but that wasn't in Gods plan, but he went peacefully, with no pain, and with as much dignity as could be arranged under the circumstances. He was the only man that has ever been able to handle me and I am completely lost without him.

I sold Erving a '48 panhead for $17.40 after a long night at the inlaws in St.LouisPark . It's a four generation placer mine from the 1890's , five guys working it and they did 600 ounces last season. I'm doing logwork on the main camp , a grizz burned it all down . DC fences around everything with all the bear problems , bringing my .458 . Thanks for talking Froggy . Hi to Juicer , half helmets aint that bad , saved me twice .

Froggy, In the band LT-6, Did you have guitar player named John who drove a red 69 Chrysler New Yorker convertible? If so, John and I use to hang out. Do you remeber Hurrican Barb? Bill Jordan? Got my son into playing the Tenor Sax and the Barry. Picked him up a guitar he loves his music. You musians are truly blessed, Keep it up. My Favorite lyrics to a song are( Were going to ride, were going to ride, like the one eyed jack of diamond with devil close behind, I am ging to find me a reckless woman with razors and diamonds in her eyes and thunder and lighting from her thighs.
